Okay...there is this 3 1/2 foot girl in the same room as me. She is talking and singing non-stop.
My ears hurt.
In fact, my ears may be bleeding at this point.
I love her. But right now, cleaning the house and hearing her chattering is too much...
I need quiet time.
Moments ago, I asked her to "please stop singing because mommy needed to hear the quiet in the house"
"But mommy! I'm singing a song called 'I love my mommy ...this much' "(as she opens her arms wide)
ahhh, talk about a change of perspective....sing your heart out! thanks God for giving me such an amazing child....who not only wants to be near me but sings of her love for me! I have been so busy, I only heard noise. I look at her right now...she is humming the same tune right beside my feet!
And yes, the noise will stop. Tonight, my babysitter is coming to watch my kids so that Kris and I could go on a date night!
I will have a break from the noise!
And yes, the noise will stop eventually...so will the desire to play at my feet.
So excuse me as I go and cuddle her and make her very aware of my love for her...perphaps I'll tell her in a song...
And then... I'll get her opinion on Velcro rollers or the straightener on my hair...for my hot date!
Goodness knows, she'll be thrilled to tell me that and probably what not to wear!

Love, love, love this post Andrea. As SAHM's we sometimes get lost in the din of constant noise. It takes those moments of inspiration and perspective to make us listen. I admire you for actually stopping to HEAR your little girly.
p.s. have a good date!
awwwww! :) have an awesome night out with your hun bun!
So true...eventually it stops and then we miss it ;)
Hugs
Hope you had a fantastic date!!
Aww.. I needed that perspective!! I have one of those too, that never stops singing or chattering....drives me mad...but one day, it will all go away and I will miss it terribly!!
jody!....so good to hear from you. your lil ones must keep you so busy too! hope that you are doing well!
yes, i have been warned that this stage of life doesn't last forever...it's trying to remember to savour in the midst of it...
btw...we had a great night out, some shopping and late dinner and laughed, talked and held hands...no diaper bags, strollers and you guessed it....quiet!
so sweet!!
Hey Andrea--Glad you had a great date! I wanted to tell you I appreciated your comments so much. It was good to hear your perspective on a subject that I felt God was revealing TRUTH to me on....don't ever feel afraid of me being offended. My last post on love was the result of this weekend (nothing to do with my bloggie world!)--I decided to delete it actually because I felt like it was a bit attacking and maybe too obvious! Anyways...I can explain more but would rather do so in email. I am not sure how to email you....so send me your address. csocoteanu@gmail.com
Andrea, thanks for your comment. I was just getting ready to email you the "cultural experiences of massage" when i realized i dont have your email address. can you send it to me please. jrplett@gmail.com
I can relate. The noise is so wonderful and maddening all at the same time. I know they mean well....
Hope you had a great time on your date. Did you do hot rollers or straight? What was the advice? :)
Carl is really Kathy....I'm wondering how I logged in as him. Well, Carl could probably relate, but Kathy does more!
my email is ajplettatgmaildotcom
jmbmommy- i'll email you after my crazy day...a funeral this morning and social worker house visit...a lil crazy emotional here today!
jocelyn- yep, i'll email soon....i'm very curious!
kathy- hahaha! i was wondering why in the world Carl really cared about my hair! i know that he has witnessed me getting ready in my life...but it seemed out of his character, to ask about the mundane in my life...
Very cute, I hope that your date was fun.
