'they' say change will do you good...

Change

... that's a big word.

I am impulsive and have a creative, spontaneous mind but I do love 'normal'....whatev that means! I had my blood pressure checked last week and it was in 'normal' range. What is normal when we are all so individual? God has designed each of us so differently, so uniquely...so though I understand normal , I do tend to question it.

My family and I have had many changes lately. Let me think...

1.) all day school routine for my son
2.) our adoption decision and preparations
3.) having a social worker critic my parenting style constantly
4.) making financial smart decisions and trying to stick to my budget
5.) meeting new friends in my area
6.) finding a new home church
7.) ministries I am involved in are in full swing or in final planning stages
8.) Kris has a new job effective shortly
9.) new hobbies to fill my time
10.) finding a special time to spend time reflecting/praying with my Jesus
11.) buying a newer car

and then there is smaller changes like:

1.) being more organized in my home
2.) removing all my baby stuff for good (insert sighing here)
3.) me fitting into a smaller size
4.) changing my hair colour to brown
5.) new hair products and their smells (raspberry almond...are you with me)
6.) savouring each day and season, I have been blessed with
7.) in the past 3 weeks, my baby has become happy

to even changing my toothbrush, lipstick colour...

If change will do me good, I'm all for it! But I can only handle these changes if my Jesus holds my hand. Maybe not each change needs His leading, but I desire to strive to walk with Him... in all I do...reminds me of a song
" the only thing good in me is Jesus!"

I may have to adjust to life as it happens, but it is less scary, and more peaceful with His hand holding me up, supporting me and desiring me do more with my life than whatever normal means.

you know there have been so many really tough changes...but when everything feels like chaos, i really struggled to change my toothbrush. thankfully, that change was painless...i would be a nervous wreck though with all these stressful changes without God in my life.

What a great post.I enjoyed it. BTW, I would love to hear more about your adoption--we want to start the process soon and I have no clue how.

You have lots happening in your life right now and even with the little things you can overwhelmed. But you are right, with Jesus holding your hand, you can breath a sigh of peace.
