My God Winks

I heard of God Winks after I watched a Christian program on tv a couple years ago. Beth Moore in one of her Bible study series called them God Stops.
Basically it means I keep my eyes open to how God helps me through out my days. I don't believe in accidents or coincidences. I do believe God shows me His goodness throughout the day and I try to make a point to be aware of His love and write down His blessings on a paper nearby. Since my son was born 6 1/2 years ago, I have written pages and pages of God Winks in my life...today was no exception.

1. I awoke before my kids, even when I wasn't feeling good...but is something I strive to do to get a good start on my day. (6:09)
2. My son went to school today...he was sick yesterday feeling flu-y but was feeling better and no one else got sick
3. the serviceman I was waiting for came before lunch and was able to help us
4. we were invited out for supper
5. I have been nauseous all day but was able to still care for my kids and household.
6. I was able to get a babysitter at very short notice this afternoon...the first number I called!
7. I was able to laugh, tickle, and read stories to my kids and have them help me with my chores!
8. Both Kris and I are home tonight, sitting together yet at our own computers and savouring the quietness in the house.
9. I have read your blogs today that have be uplifting, encouraging and a huge blessing as I try to mother, be a spouse and a friend.
10. Kris is taking the day off tomorrow after working 70 hours last week...co-parenting is so much more fun than doing it alone.
11. After walking past the rooms of my sleeping babies, my mother heart was to burst seeing them sleep. Precious lil blessings!

Amen!

Have a wonderful weekend with your precious family and dear friends!

I think it's such a wonderful thing to keep track of God's blessings. Carl has a book of notes from people and notes he writes to himself and when he's feeling tired or discouraged, he reads those and is uplifted.

What a practical way of focusing on God's goodness!
