Isn't it amazing how a house becomes a home? I love watching my kids at other homes, you can tell they aren't as relaxed and comfy...but open our front door...and they are home!!!
We never planned to live in our home this long. Maybe it's cuz we are too comfy. Perhaps we are lazy. Or shocked at the housing market. Or because we can't come to a decision.
Probably all above are correct.
But then there is the fact we have purchased a small house that we could imagine our lil family growing up in.
We have gone through three pregnancies, numerous positions for Kris, schooling, renovations to make more room, so many memories and now prepping for our addition...all in this physical building.
We have also had the privilege to cuddle, sing, dance, pray, read, snuggle in this place. and eat together. laugh together. cry together. grow together.
Being gone all weekend, we discussed with our social worker and other families the importance of bonding with our children, had a lovely hotel room, fireplace and hot tub with friends but there is something about coming home.
As I drove up our driveway, I smiled.
This is home.
Because of God's sweet love, this is where we feel at home.
This is where our love begins...

I totaly agree. I find so much peace in my home and I wouldn't change it for the world.
I hope you have a great week!
That is SO true!
I love home....
Ah, sweet home. Sigh, I miss my old home, but I'm excited about making this new place home....making memories and cherishing moments with our kids.
The ritziest of hotels can not compare with the coziness of home. It's not the material things that make a home -- it's the emotional things.
Great post, my friend!
beautiful post my friend.
agreed.
i want to make my home a soft place for my family. a place where they know they are safe from the winds and storms of life. xo
Ahh... that is so true! Just like we were talking about.
Yes, there is something about 'home' and the 4 walls it encompasses.
Like nothing else can compare!!
