I feel weary and tired. My kiddos are busy, creative and love attention. Reading stories is a must through out the day. Snack is counted down to the minute. Clean up time means whining and "but I didn't play with it" enters into the mix. Between play dough on the table, floor and under my socks, to music of the vegetable variety singing in a high pitched key to finding my toothbrush in the toy box...I get a load of surprises. I never know what will happen minute to minute...sometimes that is okay, sometimes it's all I've got ...to work up a smile. I love my kiddos and this job I have. We haven't played outside in weeks yet I dress my kids in their winter gear at least 3 times a day. It's exhausting. Their daddy has been really busy and in less than 20 hours they'll get to see him for the first time this week. I guess I just feel more pressure to entertain and keep them occupied and content.
Those parts of the day are hard and unpredictable. But there is a known that I just love.
Every night, after snack, bathroom routine, they jump into their beds and hide...waiting for me to find them. I go and 'look' for them. I can hear them giggling under their blankets and with much movement under the covers...I just love trying to 'find' them with much laughter and hearing how they are going to surprise me tomorrow....LOVE IT!!!
We pray about our day, our dreams and for a good rest amongst other things.
Then it's time for tucking them in. This is the moment I look forward to day after day. I tuck their blankets around them tightly and say "snug as a bug in a rug". Their eyes light up and say goodnight.

This is the moment I work towards all day. I feel so blessed to be given this opportunity to raise these children. It may be a busy day but all mistakes are forgiven, memories shared and loved all the more... only to do it all over again in the morning!

I love the photos. Like you, it`s a precious parent moment to sneak into their rooms once they are sleeping to see them completely still and at peace. You`re a wonderful mother and putting in some long days. Blessings on you, my friend.
Nothing like seeing your sleeping child to make everything better for the day again! :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love you site and the way you write about your fam. They are blessed.
That's just the best way to end the day. You are so right....no matter what the day brings (and it sounds like you've been running a Mommy marathon), bedtime is the best time. I love praying with the kids and then sneaking in after they fall asleep and kiss them.
So sweet. Precious sleeping babies. :) I am praying for strength for you my friend..I know these are long days.
