In the eyes of a child

My youngest kiddo doesn't talk but is really learning how to communicate with us. She is just 16 months...there are a few things she says like "MOMMA" really loud and "oh-oh!" Pretty cute...I really love her stage!

Yesterday, in her excitedly screeching voice, she was wanting to hold my hand and as she did, she continued walking toward my living room window. When we got there, she pointed outside...I saw nothing out of the ordinary. I visited with her as I started walking back to the kitchen to wash my supper dishes. She grabbed my hand and with much gusto, pointing and cheering, she brought me back to the view outside. I looked and saw nothing. I looked at her.

As she was pointing to everything, she was dancing and clapping with joy...for she saw a tree in our front yard, a bird and our neighbour's parked car. She pointed to the clouds, our flowering shrubs and another neighbour's cat (and their huge tv that she could see in all its glory). I saw nothing. And she saw so much more! I sat with her and told her God made the grass and the trees and the sky. She was so thrilled. And at that moment, God brought a newness to what I saw, not only did I smile watching my daughter's joy, I clapped to Jesus too!

So true, our kids see so much more because we are busy running around that we miss a lot. Blessed girl to remind you to stop and marvel at God's creation

Maybe she saw the angel at your house that you couldn't see....God is good!

Wow.

It's amazing how much these sweet children can teach us everyday.

I must say though... I feel a little convicted after reading how you took the time to sit with her and enjoy God's creations.

It seems everyone is pulling me every which way and lately it's hard for me to sit and just "enjoy" ... you know?

How beautiful. The eyes of a child. Thanks for reminding me that we need to come to God with child like faith.

Everyday is discovery for them, huh? I just love it. My little boy just turned "1" in July and he is a lot like this -- he gets so excited about things. He is learning new words everyday. I just have to remember to SLOW DOWN and enjoy each moment too --
