Today was such a good day. You know those days ...
when...
*you ask your kids something and they listen the first time;
*you get all the green traffic lights;
*you have a short line to wait for the next cashier and the kids are content and helpful;
*you take kids to a play area,and after the warning of time to leave, they willingly follow;
*your kids ask if they can clean the house and dust;
*your kids eat everything on their plate and clear the table too;
*you know that they are getting sleepy and ask to have a quiet time;
*you hear the kids talking lovingly to each other as well about the 'baby-in-waiting';
*you notice that they have finished their chores without being asked;
*you play games together and can savour each moment;
*you watch your kids do an activity they have never been able to do before but have tried numerous times;
and as you kiss them as you tuck them in for night, hold them and pray with them...
you feel so blessed!

Wow, that sounds like a truly amazing day! So glad for you and your kids :) I hope today is just as good!
That sounds like a perfect day. So glad you had one of those.
Out of curiosity, what chores do you give your children? We've been thinking about some regular ones for E and wondering what other people do....
i'm not a demanding mom or anything...i just try to get my kids to do some type of 'work' before they watch a show or do something special. Like mornings are making their beds, turning off night lights, turning the fish light on and change their clothes and putting away their pjs. during the day, they need to pick up toys/clean up either with me or help me with a task ( like sweeping the floor...i know i'll have to re-do it when they aren't looking but just learning how to do tasks)and after dinner, they say thank you and bring their own dishes to the sink or dishwasher...simple stuff..all stuff though makes this family work together and help each out...family stuff...does that make any sense?
these awesome days are so fun...it does help though that i prep the kids before we leave and they have clear understanding of where we are going and our purpose of doing the task...they know that i need them to help me and i give them projects along the way..."let me know when you see a parking spot" or "a banana bin'..etc( was that a novel or what???)
Wow. I have a hard time believing those kinds of days exist...at least in my world! Glad you had the rare experience though!
:)
It's good to have days where you can be thankful. And then on days where things aren't going as planned, you can look for those blessing/thankful moments. I'm really glad that you had a great day!
