Following my kids example

So I'm going to my daughter's room during her quiet time to reward her. She has been becoming such a good listener. And today was no exception. She was quiet playing in her room. I open the door to let her know that quiet time is over and that I'm so proud of her... and she jumps up, surprised to see me!

There she sits with a bag of my son's candy, half eaten....and her mouth is stuffed. You can't be more guilty than that! She began crying and chewing faster to get rid of the evidence. I'm trying to look serious, but these huge, saddened blue eyes are reminding me of a 'precious moments' moment...you know those characters that are so sweet yet teary eyed!

After explaining to her the pain that she has caused her brother, she solemnly walks down the hall and to his room. In full tears at this point! My son gives her a hug and asked her why she is crying, "I ate your candy"

"that's why your crying?" he asks."Oh, if that's the reason, I forgive you"

Who's child is this?

This is the boy who hourds everything and if anything is out of place in his world, he can't get over it.

Just like that.

"I forgive you!"

So they run off to play, forgiven and at peace, and me, overwhelmed by his graciousness, sit on the couch, and wipe my tears!

Oh, to be like Him!

wow, you must be a great example to your kid's. They don't do that with out seeing it happen around them. Your doing a great job...

THanks for the note on my blog.I had a great day today with great weather. I love farming. Trucking is my favorite and I feel so blessed that they asked me to come back. I'm only working four to five days a month and it gives us some spending money that we need now in summer. "Vacations"

Wow! What a way to be encouraged as a mother. He has to learn it from somewhere you know....

Sweet. Sweet. I didn't learn to actually say "I forgive you" to people until adulthood so it is so great to hear our children tell each other this -- it comes so naturally for them. Children -- they have a lot to teach us!
