Head to toes

I love hair products as well as styling and colouring my hair and of course sweet pedicures.

It's something that I have always enjoyed since the days of teasing those bangs into a semi-circle 8 inches high. Good times! I was talking to one of my friends recently after a butchered hair cut as a nearby 'spa'. I have always struggled with getting my hair done differently than I have pictured in my mind whether it was a colour or cut. But this last time, took any cake!!! Within 7 minutes, I was back in my van...with tears a-flowing! Yes...7 minutes...that was how long it took to exit my van, walk into the salon, wait for my turn, explain my idea, the actual cut and then the extra long wait to pay as the credit card didn't work the first time and to sit back in my van again. yikes. Did I mention that she suggested that she'd fix my hair when I came back the next week? I just wanted to run...and never return.

I know it's just hair. But for me, there's something about being vulnerable whilst sitting in the chair. But hair has been with me through the thick and thin times of my life. When I couldn't change my size, I could still do my hair the way I wanted. Even when I couldn't change anything else, I could still have pretty toes. Superficial. Yep. But it's something I have thoroughly enjoyed since grade school. I may not have had control over my weight, but I do have the ability to try...not to hide myself, but to attempt to draw attention away from what I bothered me.

But whatever the case, this is my 'thing' and it's part of who I am. Funny me, this is the oddest post ever. I suppose I'm in an odd mood.
What's your sweet indulgence? Do you have something that you do for you?

That pedicure is sweet! I definitely love getting pedicures and manicures. They are super cheap here (I'm going to miss that...) but it makes me feel relaxed to sit and not have to cut up food, wash dishes or fold laundry when someone is painting my nails.

Hair, uh, well, I haven't cut it in three years. Just 3 small itty bitty trims because I'm afraid of what will happen....

Your toes look so pretty!
I think it's important to take care of ourselves. Not to get vain or anything, but nothing wrong with putting effort in to looking nice on the outside as well as the inside!
