I was given a few recipes for granola bars...after changing amounts I think I've found a great recipe. Here it is:
Granola Bars
2/3 cup honey,
3/4 cup low fat peanut butter,
2 tbsp corn syrup
Put into a microwave bowl and melt completely in microwave. Stir. Heat 30 -1 minute more so the syrup can boil which will make the bars stick together better. Boiling too much will make the bars too hard to cut...still delicious...but not soft and chewy.
3 - 4 cups rolled oatmeal (not instant)
1/2 cup rice Krispies
1 cup add-ins. I like to chop trail mix into small pieces, add raisins, coconut.
Mix oatmeal and seeds/rice/nuts/dried fruit into the peanut butter mixture.
Grease a 9 X13 pan. Put in the pan and smooth with a spoon . It will be about 1 inch high in the pan. Let cool. Slice and store or serve. Placing in the fridge will make the bars too hard to enjoy.
The best part of these is knowing what is in them....no more weird, crazy foods that aren't really foods.
Enjoy!
Let me know what you think!

This looks fabulous! A recipe I can make for snacks etc. that I know the kids are going to love!!
Thanks for your thoughtful words on my last post.
It looks great...I wish I wasn't so lazy in the kitchen though!!!
I made something very similar the other day and unfortunately I ate them all!! But one thing I did to "health" them up a bit more is I used puffed brown rice instead of rice crispies, and it still turned out great!
