And I was willing to listen!
She said:
*this time at home with our kids goes way too quickly.
* if she would do it again, she would have sat down on the floor and played more Lego and go on more walks with her kids.
* she would have let the grass grow longer before cutting it and more dishes pile in the sink because she could do that all day long now.
*she would have not been so concerned about how others thought about her parenting, just hug and show her kids love...because that is what truly matters.
* and she would have let her kids be kids
So as I look forward to spending the summer with my kids, I plan to take these small and simple yet life life-changing reminders as I parent these amazing kiddos God has blessed me with!

So I choose to take one day at a time, pray more, sit more and show more love...and that just doesn't feel so overwhelming!

Thanks for sharing that Andrea. It is so meaningful to have mothers that have already "been there" encouraging us. But like you say, you have to be willing to listen :) Have a fun summer with your "kiddos" :) I'm sure i'll see you around!
So good!!
Great thoughts from someone who has walked this road we are walking. Good reminders!!
Thanks for sharing.
beautiful.
powerful!
reminds me of that erma bombeck poem, "if i had my life to live over again...."
or this quote, "shovelling the sidewalk while its still snowing is like keeping the house clean while kids are growing..."
LET IT GO (ruth) !
Such wonderful words! I needed these tonight as I have been so frustrated trying to get my 2 year old to bed and there has been countless reasons why she is not ready. Thanks for sharing this. I am trying really hard everyday but it helps to hear those very words from a seasoned mother who has been there.
WONDERFUL WISDOM!!!!
That is a great message! It's hard to remember that our kids are only young once. We get caught up in our daily routines and forget to stop and just play with our kids.
You have a very wise friend, and you are also wise in sharing her words. Yes, day by day, spend it with a purpose for those kiddos will be grown way too soon. Wasn't it just yesterday my Joel could barely crawl? Now he's almost to my shoulder...
