I was reading out of my daughter's devotional book with my princess before bed this evening. We are going through Step into the Bible (100 Bible Stories for Family devotions) by Ruth Graham with our kids. Typically, we are all together as a family but since it was soccer night it was just me and my girl.
We were reading the devotional Step 26 called '400 years of silence'...when "God was quiet...He didn't say anything for 400 years." My daughter was quiet and listen intently. The ending was learning that God sent a baby to speak to the people.
We talked about Jesus and the special gift God gave us...though the people had to wait a very long time.
She states,"Mommy, that's like another gift I know that God gives us.." and then continues," it's like our baby from Ethiopia. This baby is a gift for us from God too and we have to wait a very long time just like the people waiting for Jesus in the Bible."
Well maybe her time concept is a little off but as her eyes of wonder look at me, tears rolled down my cheeks.
Another amazing gift from God.

That is so precious! She is so smart! To her and probably to you and Kris as well it may feel like 400 years waiting for your new family member. I pray that the waiting is short and you will be able to hold your precious new child in your arms soon! I'm so excited to meet this new little person that will be joining your family! He/she is very lucky to be joining your family! You are an awesome mother!
We're tearing up over here over that so true and precious thought she had. Soon, you won't have to wait for your baby anymore!
Amazing!!!
