I love the Christmas season.
And in my mind, it has already started.
The music has been playing.
The grocery list has been made for the cookie baking to begin.
A few gifts have been purchased, hopefully, only a few more. Less is more in my opinion. (Not to mention, the happiness I feel not being in a store during this time of year.) I would rather enjoy the moment than the gifts, personally. Perhaps you think I'm weird. It's just how I roll.
Though I am itching to decorate.
But can't. You see I married to someone (who will remain nameless) who thinks that decorating for Christmas only can start the day after CFL's Grey Cup in the end of November. Here's my question, if he can partake in the Christmas goodies, what makes one part of Christmas prolonged and the other shelved? Putting all kidding aside, I am so happy that he can help get most of the decorations up...as I am allergic to garland and fake Christmas trees.
So off to plan my favorite cookies to bake and parties to plan, of course, listening to lovely Christmas music while I work.
Speaking of which, I am looking forward to my hosting the 10th annual Cookie Baking exchange with sweet friends for college as well as hosting a Christmas party for a playgroup I help host from my area.
I would love to hear your thoughts on what you look forward to during this holiday season. What are some things you and your family take time to spend together/with others/help those hurting in our midst during this festive time?
This year, I am looking for a way that my family can volunteer to make someone's Christmas just a little bit better. Do you have places and ideas you make happen or plan to do some day? I'd love to hear them!
Wishing you a Blessed Day!!!

Oh, I do miss those college girls bake exchanges. It's hard to feel Christmasy when we are in summer vacation mode. Somehow those two things don't seem to go together for me.
But we will do a bake exchange in December, even in the heat, amongst other MCCers. We most likely will have a quieter Christmas, which is a blessing to escape all the hustle and bustle of buying. That is something that I want to have continue in our lives, no matter where we are.
And right back at you! Have a blessed day Annie!
