Since my baby is one, I really wanted to write down how we spend our days. Thankfully, she is a good sleeper with a 13 hour night, a 90 minute morning nap and a 2 hour afternoon nap. So when she sleeps or in her crib, I know where she is and that she is safe. It's just the rest of the day that scares me.
I have never had to work so hard to keep a baby alive in my home before. Seriously! When she is not sleeping, she is doing one of the following:
*walking around the house with an ice cream pail( or anything she can cover her eyes with) on her head, walking into every corner
* picking at the basement door enough so that is opens all the way and she tries to 'walk' down the stairs (thankfully,I have caught her numerous times before the fall) or
* opening the locked dishwasher in hopes to grab knives by the handles and walk around the house with them or
*ripping the pages out of the library books that we just got or
* eating mud off the bottoms of shoes in the entrance in hopes of being able to chew on a rock or
*putting everything in her mouth, choking on it and getting me panicked as I save her life and try finding the phone for 911( thankfully, we haven't had to go that extreme but it happens at least once a day)
* opening each and every drawer possible to stick her fingers inside and close the drawer half a second before I can save her from the pinch
*taking every opportunity to see if someone left the bathroom door open, to throw her favorite things into the toilet and then of course, wash her hands in it( gross)
*dumping everything she finds in a basket, pail, drawer to the floor so that we a trip over it and remain on our toes, looking for this missing item( which she'll throw down the stairs at a later time...i've have yet to find where her stash is though)
*and of course... opening markers that have fallen from off the table, to draw all over herself, the furniture and then enjoy the taste of them!!!
I have stated to other moms that my down time isn't relaxing because this is when I can make supper, laundry, and everything household without her. When she is awake, I am in arms length from her.
Each day, I pray for her safety, and God has blessed me abundantly with His answers!

Oh, I am just exhausted for you. But wonder if our #3 will have some similarities to your #3. Maybe it's God's way of keeping life interesting! Well, keep plugging, because now it seems tiring, but her energy and curiosity will be timeless treasures when she gets older.
Your little Jessica is soooo cute! Hard to believe she can cause this much "trouble" for you :) I thought my kids were busy but I need a nap after reading this post!
Hey Andrea - my baby girl (17 months) sounds EXACTLY like your girly, with the exception that she only sleeps for 1.5 hours during the day. Yeah, quite an adventure!
