It's not your Gramma's eggnog

Our Gramma makes a delicious eggnog....one that includes ice cream and supreme deliciousness. The recipe is under lock and key...once and only once a year, on Christmas Eve, if you come early for Christmas lunch you'll hear a whirring sound of mixing coming from the kitchen. By far, it is one of the most delicious tastes I have ever had...and I don't like eggnog.
There are times when once a year just doesn't cut it and my palate craves that creamy smoothness. And I know for a fact, the store bought kind is repulsive to my taste buds. What to do, what to do?
I do have a fall back recipe that I make on occasion when the kiddos ask for it.
It is simple, using basic ingredients and has a satisfying taste to make us look forward to the real thing in a few weeks.
Effortless Eggnog
2 L cold milk, divided
1 pkg (lg)instant vanilla pudding mix
1/4 cup white sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
In a large bowl, whisk 3/4 cup cold milk and pudding mix until smooth. Whisk in the sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir in the remaining milk. Refrigerate until serving.
Makes 16 servings!
