Spinning outta control...

I have been having the feeling lately that everything that has been stable in my life is shaking me up. I also feel outta control when it comes to doing my 'job'. From my tongue to my emotions, our adoption, my finances to friendships and parenting. And that's a huge range. I have noticed in the past typically when one part of life falls apart, another is sure to follow soon after. Does that ever happen to you?
I know that I have made some poor choices this past year. What is done is done. But to pick up the pieces and move forward to my goal toward my Heavenly Father...yet again. That is what God intends for me.
I was reading Psalm 32 this morning (v.5) "Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said ," I will confess my transgressions to the LORD." And you forgave the guilt of my sin...and then (v.8) "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you."
Proverbs 21:23 "Anyone who is careful about what he says keeps himself out of trouble" fitting for the words I've spoken and at times thankfully, for what I haven't said.
After praying about our very long awaited adoption, I have found comfort in "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." (Ecclesiastes 3:1) I really need to remind myself about the bigger picture rather than the wants and needs I have for my life.
Here's a few of my favorite verses that I read daily by my sink:

"The Lord is a place of safety for those who have been beaten down. He keeps them safe in times of trouble." Psalm 9:9...so comforting!

" You are holy and dearly loved. So put on tender mercy and kindness as if they were your clothes" Col 3:12...love that image!!!

"He gives me new strength. He guides me in the right paths for the honour of His name." Psalm 23:3...need that daily!

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourself." Phil 2:3...and"Each of you should look not only at your own interests, but also to the interests of others." Phil 2:4...words to live by!

"If you spend yourself on behalf of others; then your light will rise in darkness. The Lord will guide you always. Your needs will be satisfied, your frame strengthened." Is.58:6-9....my absolute favorite verses in the Bible!!!
What are some of your verses that you keep close to your heart? I'd love to know how God encourages you through His Word. It's truly amazing to have a hard day, flip through and read aloud God's promises and know that we are comforted, loved, forgiven and accepted!
Blessings as you shine,
Andrea
