I got my kids to help put supper together the other night. My son was so impressed at how easy it was to make pizza that he asked me if next time we have pizza, that he could make it himself...with no help! So as a curious mother asked him how pizza is made...
Bud's Recipe for pizza
*put some powder in a bowl and mix.
*add some water
*put it on a pan
* add the ingredients on top
* and then bake it in the oven
Hmmmm...that does sound easier than I would have done it...I wonder if I am making extra work for myself...
Here's my pizza crust recipe (I double it to make an extra crust or two to freeze)
1 tbsp quick rising yeast
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2 cups flour ( I sometimes sprinkle extra bran in)
1 tsp dried oregano flakes
a dash or two or garlic powder
mix together.
add 1 tbsp olive oil ( I only had vegetable oil for this last batch)
and 1 cup lukewarm water
Mix together. Place bowl in a warm spot to rise 1/2 hour. punch down and roll out on to a large pan(s) that are greased(I sometimes add cornmeal to the pan before adding the dough after it is greased). Add sauce, "ingredients" and bake for 6-8 minutes or so depending on the thickness of crust. Place cheese on top of pizza and broil until nicely brown...about 2 minutes or so.
Enjoy with vegetable sticks or salad! The funny thing is that when I was a kid, I told my mom the same thing..."next time, I gonna do it myself"

Mmmmm....pizza! Great, thanks a lot -- now all I can think about is pizza.
Oh wait! I'm making pizza buns for lunch...close enough!
ps: did you turn your dining room table around?
