Footprints

I was looking out of my window overlooking the snow, glittering and sparkling on a recent sunny day.
I couldn't help but notice the footprints left behind from my kiddos.
They went this way, then that way. Drudging in the snow when you are small is tough work, I noticed places where they fell over, dragging their sleds, picking them themselves up and heading into a different direction. Another tracks showed that they were distracted, and turned around and headed back from where they came. There were tracks all over the yard, in fact it looked a little messy.
As I sat by the window, I realized how often my life looked like these tracks in the snow.
Times I was distracted, times when God placed me on another path, times I thought going any direction on my own without knowing where I was heading...
My prayer is to be following God's path...wherever that leads. Deep snow may come, but I know He is with me and I'm following His tracks! It may not be the plan I had in mind, but I can have peace knowing God is preparing me because only He can oversee and know the full picture.

There is great comfort in knowing that God is with us! I, too, so desperately want to be following God's path for my life.

Thank you for sharing your great insight, Andrea!

Totally, only he can see the big picture. Sometimes I wonder how much energy I waste running around in circle 8's trying to figure it all out. Just follow the path....
