Out with the old, In with the new...

I love reflecting. Especially at the end of each year.
Seeing where we were, how far we've come, how some choices changed directions in the journey and how some things have been very constant.
This year was no exception!
Kris did a huge job change...that meant...well, change. Changing the city he worked in, the line of work, his responsibilities at his job and beginning a longer commute. But this change also meant peace. This change brought a level of calmness into our lives tho Kris is extremely driven and passionate about his career. I am very proud of his skills and abilities to work so hard and care for our family the way he does.
We also moved. Only 2 miles from our old house. But a move is a move. That meant renovations in our old house, selling it and moving into our 'new to us' house. After 10 years of living in one place, having 3 children and the stuff it takes to raise them...it was no small feat. But it was a good move. It feels so good to be home again.
Smaller stuff included activities our family was involved with, our church family and the friendships that it has brought, I began running and reading for fun...two of which I thought I'd never do! I really enjoyed Karen Kingsbury's books, unlike my love for 'self-help' books, though I just finished Dr. Kevin Leman's Turning Up the Heat as well as finishing a Bible study called Breaking Free with Beth Moore, which was a perfect way to end this year...fresh starts!!!
As I gaze into this New Year like from the eyes of a child, I am hopeful, thankful and positive that change can be good!
I intend to continue my Bible study group, write in my prayer journal, be involved in the lives of those in my community, love my family and exercise.
This year will include some more big decisions, possibly a trip with my hubby, learning to say no and ask for help when I feel stretched, taking care of my health without the obsession I have struggled with...yes, that means losing weight...but you will not hear about my exercise play-by-play...I'll leave that to my friends that love me no matter what!
I also plan to follow Fly Lady again this year...I stopped after I moved because I didn't have clutter...but it's creeping back into my life...and I crave order!
But before the ball drops tonight, I want to tidy up my home and play with my kids!
I want to wish you and your families much love, happiness and His guidance throughout this new year!
